Naperville

A thriving Chicagoland city with a competitive real estate market.

Welcome to Naperville

Home to a bustling downtown and the best public library system in the country, Naperville has a lot going for it. Located 33 miles southwest of central Chicago, Naperville offers its residents a thriving arts scene, an immaculately kept historic district, and sweeping green spaces and parks to enjoy. Prospective homeowners are drawn to the city for its lively entertainment, a plethora of things to do, and convenient access to cities like Chicago by train.

Initially home to Native American tribes, Naperville was later settled by Joseph Naper, his family, and friends in 1831. Today, the city is dominated by large single-family homes interspersed with a few apartment blocks. These homes are typically built in Italianate styles, although Queen Anne, Craftsman, and Classic Revival are also common. Many professionals and families chose to make Naperville their home over the years, and the burgeoning population has encouraged continuous development across the city, which has become even more popular in the real estate market over recent years.

What to Love

  • Energetic downtown with much to see, do and eat
  • Sprawling public parks and outdoor spaces
  • Many excellent schools in the district
  • Easy access to Chicago

Local Lifestyle

Naperville is a diverse and energetic city, and this is markedly carried over to the city’s population, which is made up of many age groups and professions, with entertainment and dining destinations to suit them all. Priding itself on being a year older than Chicago, the city offers a distinct hometown feel despite its size and growing population. Although the city is not particularly walkable, the many public parks draw residents out to enjoy all the outdoors has to offer on particularly sunny days.

Dining, Entertainment & Shopping

As a bustling city with a diverse and thriving population, there is much to do and eat. One popular local haunt is the Solemn Oath Brewery, which offers everything from seltzers to kegs for every taste and preference. The bar also serves upscale pub grub with many intriguing specials being rotated throughout the year. Another excellent destination for a unique, ice-cold beer is Noon Whistle Brewing, one of Chicagoland’s most exciting breweries. The venue often hosts live music events and is a popular gathering place for Naperville residents from all walks of life.

Should you be in search of a more upscale dining experience, Hugo’s Frog Bar & Fish House offers fine dining seafood dishes and perfectly paired wines and cocktails in a classic indoor and outdoor setting. The indoor piano bar adds to the elegant atmosphere sought after by many Naperville residents. Lovers of Italian food and wine will be more than satisfied by the menu of the ever-popular Rosebud. Classic pasta, veal, and other authentic Italian dishes are all served in delicious, generous portions of goodness.

For those in search of a premier shopping location, look no further than the streets of Downtown Naperville. Home to over 100 stores, this part of the city offers everything from locally-owned boutiques to brand-name institutions, including Sephora, lululemon, and Anthropologie.
